Warriors give Draymond Green an undisclosed fine on punch vs Jordan Poole; to make a team return on Thursday

The Golden State Warriors have slapped Draymond Green an undisclosed fine, with the veteran set on a Thursday return after a brief hiatus away from the team, multiple sources have confirmed

Meanwhile, the Warriors didn’t land any suspension on Green, who escalated a notorious altercation with Jordan Poole and hurled a punch based on the viral video that appeared publicly via TMZ.

Following the Dubs’ exhibition win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, coach Steve Kerr addressed the decision of the franchise brass and noted that Green will eventually play in the team’s preseason ender on Friday.

The All-star big man will also be activated on their 2022-23 season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers this Oct. 18.

“We feel like this is the best way for us to move forward,” Kerr said. “This is the biggest crisis that we’ve ever had since I’ve been coach here.”

“Draymond and I have been together for eight years. We’ve had plenty of run-ins … (but) I trust him. He broke our trust with this incident, but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt because I think he’s earned that — and I think our team feels the same way.”

In his personal press conference last week, Green already expressed his apology on Poole and his family with regards to the incident. He also provided his desire to be away from the team temporarily to calm things down.

With Green soon to go back and his relationship with Poole appears healing, the Warriors are set to defend their crown and clinch that probable fifth title in nine years.
