Jae Crowder requests trade upon unsecured starting position for Suns next season

Jae Crowder initially expressed his desire to be extended, but his intentions to remain in the Phoenix Suns came to an end when the franchise informed him that he’ll likely lose his starting spot over Cam Johnson next season (h/t Marc Stein).

With that, Crowder ultimately requested to part ways from the Suns, which he hinted from his recent Twitter postings that fueled speculations of a probable split up from both sides.

The veteran wing, who remains away from the Suns training camp until a trade materializes, is entering a contract year in the 2022-23 season. His diminished role in the club for the upcoming campaign could have convinced him to go for a better destination which can help him increase his market value.

Several teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and the Memphis Grizzlies are rumored potential landing spots, with the Dallas Mavericks taking a leave as told by Stein.
