Former Suns female employee disappointed on NBA’s verdict against Robert Sarver

A former Phoenix Suns female employee doesn’t find the NBA’s decision as convincing enough with regards to the concluded case of Robert Sarver.

As provided by ESPN’s Baxter Holmes in the NBA Today segment on Tuesday, the employee claimed that the punishment handed against Sarver is “barely a slap on the wrist” and the league has failed to stand for values and justice.

“It’s barely a slap on the wrist and shows us the league truly doesn’t stand for diversity, equity or inclusion. I’m grateful to have the validation after being told I was insane, a bitch, and being dramatic. That definitely lets me breathe a little. But I’m angry. The league failed us when they had the opportunity to stand behind its values.”

The last time when the league boldly stood up against an owner was in 2014, when Donald Sterling was banned permanently and forced to sell the Los Angeles Clippers franchise after a recording circulated around wherein he delivered offensive racist remarks.

After almost a year of investigation with regards to the accusation of misogynistic toxic presence, the league came up with an announcement recently, slapping Sarver a one-year suspension from ownership duties for both the Suns and Mercury, a $10 million fine and mandatory compliance on training programs focused on respect and proper workplace conduct.

Amid his full cooperation in the investigation, both Holmes and Adrian Wojnarowski have detailed that Sarver considers these penalties as “unaccepting.”

Ineligible to attend both of his franchise games and be involved on their basketball operations duty, Sarver will reportedly work with the NBA to find an interim governor for the Suns.
