Victor Oladipo is reportedly focused on raising his quality, following past seasons of challenges due to injuries.
Various rumors suggest that Oladipo is seeking to sign a short-term contract and improve his value, whereas the Sacramento Kings are being seen as a potential landing spot to cater his need (h/t The Kings Beat With James Ham).
Despite being bothered by unavailability woes and playing in just 96 regular season games since 2018-2019, Oladipo sticks to his belief that he is “still that guy,” optimistic enough to reclaim his All-star form.
“I’m still that guy,” Oladipo told The Ringer last March. “Now I just got to get my body back to feeling like it’s at an All-Star level, which takes time. I have no doubt in my mind that I can.”
A potential signing with the Kings may sound ideal for the former Hoosiers talent, as it will reunite him with Domantas Sabonis, whom he played with in the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers last decade.
Oladipo spent the majority of last season recovering from the second surgery of his right quadriceps tendon. He returned for the last eight elimination games of the Miami Heat.
He turned out to be a reliable piece off the bench in the club’s recent postseason run, averaging over 10 markers a game to go along with 3.4 boards, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals in 24.5 minutes of action.
