Fresh from his first championship run, Andrew Wiggins made it clear that he intends to remain a Warrior for years to come

“I would love to stay here,” Wiggins said. “This is top-notch. The way they treat their players, the way they treat your family.”

Wiggins arrived in Golden State last 2020 in a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Two years have passed, he blossomed and became an NBA All-star for the first time in his career this 2021-2022 season.

Wiggins now holds a $33.6 million in the final year of his rookie max contract extension he signed with the Timberwolves in 2017.

The former top overall pick arguably played the second most important role for the Warriors’ magical title exploits behind reigning Finals MVP Stephen Curry, averaging 16.5 points, 7.5 boards, 2.0 assists, and shooting 46.9 from the field in the club’s 22 games this postseason. He also delivered hefty assignments of guarding Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Ja Morant on the defensive end.

As such, at age 27, Wiggins is deserving of a huge bag due to his contributions and expanding room for growth.

“We’re all one big family. A lot of places might say that, but here their actions show it. I would love to stay here.”
