The announcement of the MVP voting results yesterday ignited debates on whether Nikola Jokic deserved the award, who should have won if not him and if the voting system is correct.

Some argued that it was Joel Embiid who was the real MVP instead of the Joker. The Nuggets superstar apparently won the race by making historical analytics numbers.

The 76ers head coach Doc Rivers does not agree with the importance that is given to the analytics and thinks that an eye test should be used instead.

“I do think this whole analytic-driven society, world is out of control at times with some of the measures that they use. Like, watch the dang game and decide is what I’ve always said,” Rivers said, per Rich Hofmann
