Sports analyst Skip Bayless shared his thoughts on a play by LeBron James that took place during the final seconds of the fourth quarter between the Lakers and the Rockets.
The four-time NBA champion chose to pass the ball to an open Carmelo Anthony instead of attempting a shot from under the basket himself. Melo missed the shot and the game went to overtime which was dominated by Houston.
After the game LeBron stuck with the choice he made in the game, saying that Anthony had a better shot which is why he made the pass.
According to Bayless, it shows that James does not have the clutch gene. “I believe LeBron doesn’t have the clutch gene,” he said on UNDISPUTED. “He doesn’t have the closer gene or clutch free-throw gene. It’s been my biggest problem with LeBron.”
