Several NBA teams could show interest for Miles Bridges in a ‘target-light market’, per NBA insider

NBA took notice of the Hornets forward Miles Bridges, who has a breakout year in Charlotte. Bridges has established himself as a leading candidate for the NBA Most Improved Player Award with his play.

The Hornets are in the playoff conversation due to the inspiring play of LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges. Charlotte is sixth in the East with 13 wins in the first 22 games of the season.

After averaging 12.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last season, Bridges amped up his numbers to 20.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game through nearly a quarter of the 2021-22 season.

According to NBA insider John Hollinger, Bridges, who will be a restricted free agent at end of the season, could attract interest from several NBA teams with cap space next offseason.

“Bridges will likely to be extremely popular in a target-light market,” said John Hollinger in his recent column.

He also identified four teams as potential destinations with Memphis, Detroit, San Antonio and Orlando having the cap space to make an offer to the high-flying forward.

Since Bridges will be a restricted free agent after he and the Hornets didn’t agree to a contract extension at the deadline, Charlotte can still match any offer sheet and keep the forward.

The Hornets do not seem to have any reason to not match any offer for Bridges. The Michigan State product has helped the franchise establish itself among the best young teams in the league.
