Coming off a huge win over Milan, Bayern Munich will face fellow German EuroLeague club ALBA Berlin Thursday night.

The German derby will open Round 7 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Bayern is coming off two consecutive wins in the competition against Zalgiris and Olimpia Milano.

“We are playing against the reigning champions, who had a good start in the EuroLeague,” says coach Trinchieri about ALBA. “You are a well-oiled machine, you play with a lot of self-confidence under the guidance of your leaders Lo and Sikma.

They have now added da Silva to their system, who is also a major financial investment and is currently the best German Big Man. We ourselves are currently developing our identity through games and definitely want to fight another big fight,” Trinchieri continued.

Berlin is tied with Bayern at 2-4 coming off a close-fought battle against Olympiacos. This will be the 60th game between the two easyCredit BBL powerhouses.

The Bavarians have the upper hand with 35 wins, while ALBA Berlin triumphed 24 times over their rivals. In the BBL, Berlin surprisingly lost at home to Göttingen at the weekend, the third defeat in the fifth league game.

For Bayern, the surprising win against Milan was the fourth success in a row in all competitions.
