Rajon Rondo on altercation between Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard

The game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns was marked by a scuffle between Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard as the two teammates got into a heated argument over a miscommunication on coverage, according to head coach Frank Vogel.

Rajon Rondo was at the center of events when the altercation broke out and helped separating Davis and Howard. The two-time NBA champion did not make a big out of the altercation, saying that it happens when the players want to win. He also said that the relationship between the two teammates is good and this incident does not change it.

Via Mirjam Swanson of Los Angeles Daily News:

“It can happen, you know, (stuff) happens all the time,” Rondo said Saturday. “But nevertheless, those two guys, I wouldn’t say they’re best friends, but they get along very well. Dwight’s my best friend some days, A.D.’s my best friend some days. Other than that, two guys going at it, two guys wanting to compete.

“Frustrations happen on the court, obviously they gotta control things better, but at the same time, when you lose things are more magnified, and the Lakers – it seems crazy, but at the same time, I think we’re in a great place, where we need to be as far as continuing to get better.”
