Bradley Beal to miss Wizards’ home opener with hip injury

Bradley Beal will not be available for the Washington Wizards home opener vs. the Pacers. Head coach Wes Unseld Jr. told reporters Friday that Beal is out with a right hip contusion.

Beal played 34 minutes in the season opener Wednesday. The Wizards’ superstar scored 23 points, but, he only shot 7-of-19 from the field. The Wizards claimed a 98-83 victory over Toronto.

Beal will be instrumental for Washington’s success this season. He finished as the second-best scorer in the league last year, leading his team back to the playoffs.

Raul Neto will likely get the starting nod alongside Spencer Dinwiddie in the Friday’s contest vs. the Pacers. The Wizards are getting back in the court on Monday to face the Brooklyn Nets.
