Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown tests positive for COVID-19

Boston Celtics’ superstar Jaylen Brown will be out for an unspecified amount of time after testing positive for COVID-19, the team announced. That could be considered a big blow for Cs ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season.

According to the Celtics’ latest update, the 24-year-old is asymptomatic and in quarantine for the time being. Brown played in the team’s first preseason game against Orlando Monday.

He put up a game-high 25 points on top of four rebounds and three assists, while shooting 50 percent from the field. It remains to be seen how long Brown will be out with the positive COVID-19 test.

It’s unknown whether Boston’s superstar is vaccinated. The Celtics have two more preseason games to play against the Raptors (October 9) and Magic (October 19), before starting the season on Oct.20.
