Tremmell Darden, who entered the 18th year of his professional career, has been a great example for the younger players of MPH Riesen Ludwigsburg.
In the opening game of the Basketball Champions League game, Darden helped his team withhold a comeback and claim a massive victory over Dinamo Sassari.
The veteran forward had 11 points, two rebounds, one assist and a steal in his first Basketball Champions League game of his illustrious career.
In the apogee of his career, Darden had great runs with some of the best teams in the European stage at that time. More specifically, he played for Real Madrid (2013-2014) and Olympiacos (2014-2015) competing in two consecutive EuroLeague Final Fours.
The last four years, Darden seems to be in the best form of his long career, playing in the German Bundesliga, flourishing in the veteran leader role for MHP Riesen.
During the 2020-21 season, he helped Swabians finish third in the Basketball Bundesliga and return to the international stage, after two years of absence.
At the start of the season, the Niagara University product is still in top shape and being a vital part of John Patrick’s plan. He averages 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.0 blocks per game.

Darden should be an excellent example of what longevity means in the European basketball. In his 18 years of his career, he went through several roles in the bigger stage and remained ready even at the latter phase of his career course, having a big role in one of the most competitive leagues in Europe.
