Russell Westbrook had nothing but good words to say about Pau Gasol, who retired from basketball on Tuesday.
Westbrook, who joined the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, admitted Gasol was his ‘favorite player’.
“Pau was actually my favorite player growing up. He played the right way,” Russell Westbrook told reporters, via Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group.
Gasol, who received a standing ovation from FC Barcelona fans, spent six years with the Los Angeles Lakers (2008-2014). He played in three straight NBA Finals (2008-2010) and won the title twice (2009, 2010).
