It was reported recently that Anthony Davis will be moved to the starting center position for the Los Angeles Lakers this coming season. The 28-year-old forward, who is more used to playing at the four position, shared his thoughts on the coming change during the media day.

“That was expectation that was discussed and I expect to play center,” Davis said. “I’m not sure what’s going to happen, me and Frank [Vogel] talked about it a couple of times and that’s the plan. Right now nothing is set in stone. But we want to see what that looks like. I’m comfortable with that.

“Obviously, there’s times where Dwight [Howard] or DJ [DeAndre Jordan] might get to start center depending on on games. But for the most part I think the plan is go with me playing center.”

This past season, Davis averaged 21.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for the Lakers mostly playing as a power forward.
