Lakers will be a serious contender for DeAndre Jordan

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Brooklyn Nets are trading big man DeAndre Jordan, four future-second round picks, and $5.78 million to Detroit for Jahlil Okafor and Sekou Doumbouya. The Pistons’ plan is to negotiate a contract buyout with DeAndre Jordan and allow him to become a free agent. In that scenario, the Los Angeles Lakers will be a serious contender for the 33-year-old veteran. Jordan spent the last two seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, bouncing in and out of the starting lineup during his tenure. Over 113 games – 49 of those in the starting lineup – former All-Star center has averaged 7.9 points and 8.7 rebounds in 21.9 minutes per game.
