Juancho Hernangomez is not expected to stick with the Memphis Grizzlies, as he is not required to report to the team’s training camp, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

Hernangomez was just acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves that sent Patrick Beverley to the ‘Twin Cities for Jarrett Culver and Hernangomez.

The Spanish national is in the final guaranteed season of his contract worth $6,907,815 million. Memphis could waive him or flip him in another trade.

Either way, Hernagomez’s future seems to be away from Memphis. He has toughness to contribute as a rebounder and defender, but, last season, he took a step back statistically.

Last season, he averaged 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 52 appearances with the Timberwolves. He shot just 43 percent from the field and 32 percent from three.
