Ricky Rubio tired of being traded; exciting for opportunity with Cavaliers

This offseason, Ricky Rubio was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers as the front office is hoping to provide veteran leadership in a young roster.

Rubio is about to start his 11th season in the NBA. He has played for three different teams in the past three seasons, spending time with the Suns, the Timberwolves and now Cleveland.

“I am indeed a bit tired, but I have been in the NBA for ten years now, and I know how it works,” he said on his previous experience on being able to adjust to his new team. “At the end of the day, everyone tries to be ready to adapt to a new environment. You must be mentally prepared for this. But everything takes time.”

The Spanish national, who made those statements during an interview with Marca, hopes to make an impact on the Cavs’ young roster and give more depth behind the promising backcourt of Collin Sexton and Darius Garland.

“It will be difficult at first, but I hope I can adapt as I have in other teams,” he mentioned previewing Cleveland. “I am looking forward to seeing what my role will be there,” Rubio stated.

The former Minnesota and Phoenix point guard has career averages of 11.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game through 10 seasons in the NBA.
