Brooklyn Nets would like to offload DeAndre Jordan’s contract off their salary cap, according to the latest reports. The Nets shopped DeAndre Jordan throughout the draft and the offseason, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports.

Jordan has two remaining years in his contract, however Schiffer notes he will be surprised to see the veteran center in the Nets’ training camp.

The center initially signed a four-year, $40 million deal with Brooklyn during the same free agency the team added Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Jordan saw his role regressing this past season, despite starting 43 of his 57 games during the 2019-2020 regular season.

Despite the center’s devaluing in the league, Jordan could find a back-up role in an NBA team; however, his contract seems to be a deterrent factor in his case.
