Malik Monk signed with the Los Angeles Lakers after four years with the Charlotte Hornets. The 23-year-old guard will be one of the youngest players on his new team, with the majority of his teammates being well over 30 years of age.

In a recent interview, Monk explained what attracted him to the Lakers. “The environment, man,” he said, per Sanjesh Singh of LeBronWire. “And this organization, and all the knowledge that I’ll learn. How to be a pro, how to work, how to work smarter and just how to be a man too, as well.”

This past season, Monk averaged 11.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for the Hornets. It was his best season so far in the NBA.
