Rajon Rondo is not expected to be with Memphis Grizzlies at the start of the season, per report

Rajon Rondo was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in a deal that sent Eric Bledsoe to the Los Angeles Clippers. Memphis is expected to go young this season and build around Ja Morant.

As a result, Rajon Rondo could be traded again to another team before the 2021-22 season starts, per Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian.

(via hoopswire.com):

“Neither Rajon Rondo nor Sam Merrill are likely to be members of the Grizzlies when the 2020-21 season begins, per Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian. Rondo and Merrill were acquired in separate trades this summer, and per Hill, more buyouts may loom before camp gets underway in September.”

Last season, Rondo appeared in 45 games with the Hawks and the Clippers, averaging 5.4 points, 4.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds per contest.
