Los Angeles Lakers made some impressive moves during the 2021 offseason, adding Russell Westbrook and several capable veterans around LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Kendrick Perkins, known Lakers and LeBron James believer, recently joined Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson on their Road Trippin’ podcast.
Frye disagreed with his former teammate on the Lakers’ chances to win the 2021-22 NBA title, claiming that James and co. are not the favorites to win it all in a full season of 82 games and the playoffs.

“I was listening to you. I don’t agree with you. I love Bron. I love AD. I like Melo. I like Russell Westbrook. It is 2021. There’s not enough balls to go around. … In the playoffs, it’s a big ‘what-if’. This old a– team has to make it 82 games to the playoffs,” Frye said to Perkins.
The Lakers added Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony in the mix, after a disappointing first-round exit to the Phoenix Suns this past season.
They also made room for more offensive talent around James as they traded Kevtavious Caldwell-Pope and did not sign Wes Matthews back, bringing in Kendrick Nunn, Malik Monk, and Trevor Ariza.
It remains to be seen if the Lakers’ strategy will work in full season and if their stars will remain healthy for a full 82-game season.
