Warriors unwilling to meet asking price for Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons, per report

Warriors are looking to improve their squad ahead of the 2021-22 season, and they are willing to trade assets for a veteran or an all-star player.

However, they will give up anyone of their all-star core for Ben Simmons, who is reportedly in the trade block of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The San Francisco Chronicle’s Connor Letourneau reported Friday that the 76ers are asking for “a massive haul that includes an All-Star-level player” for Simmons.

“Simmons, the only All-Star known to be shopped by his team, is also unlikely to land with the Warriors. The 76ers are asking for a massive haul that includes an All-Star-level player. Per a league source, Golden State wouldn’t be willing to give up what it would take to get Simmons.”

According to the report, Golden State’s front office is not willing to meet the 76ers’ asking price for the All-Star point-forward.

The Warriors have no intentions of trading Curry, Thompson or Green, while Andrew Wiggins is not considered an all-star caliber player. At the same time, James Wiseman is still a young player with All-Star potential.
