Knicks, Bulls expected to emerge as Dennis Schroder suitors, per report

After completing his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder became an unrestricted free agent. He did express interest to return to LA next during the season-closing press conference. However, his future remains unknown.

The 27-year-old German guard is reportedly looking for a contract in the range of $100-120 million after turning down an $84 million offer from the Lakers. According to a recent report, at least two teams are expected to have a serious interest in Schroder. Namely the Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks.

Via Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report:

League sources expect Chicago and New York to emerge as Schroder suitors, and both could be conducted via sign-and-trade—although Knicks certainly have the cap space to sign him outright. New York will likely have north of $50 million to spend this summer.

This past season Schroder averaged 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 32.1 minutes per game. After the season ended for the Lakers he received criticism from the team’s legend Magic Johnson who said that the guard is not a Laker.
