Trail Blazers’ Zach Collins re-fractures foot

Portland Trail Blazers big man Zach Collins has re-fractured his foot, according to Shams Charania.

Collins, who missed the entire 2020-21 NBA season after undergoing multiple surgeries on his left ankle, will be a free agent this offseason.

The 23-year-old only played 11 games in the 2019-20 season, including eight games in the Orlando bubble.

During that season, Collins also missed four months after having left shoulder surgery.

While the report doesn’t state which foot Collins injured, it’s likely that it’s the same foot, considering it being labeled as a “re-fracture.”

If Collins doesn’t receive a qualifying offer, he will become an unrestricted free agent, but it remains to be seen how this new injury affects his free agency.
