Marc Gasol talks about his year with Lakers

The former NBA champion Marc Gasol couldn’t hide his emotions when he was asked why he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 36-year-old veteran revealed that he wanted to honor his brother Pau who won two championships as a Laker.

Gasol spoke highly of his experience with the Purple and Gold. He was also thankful for the opportunity to play along LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the Lakers roster.

Via Harrison Faigen:

“I’m very appreciative of the opportunity and the chance to play with not only Bron and AD, but also with guys like Keef, like Wes, like Dennis, all my teammates, Tre.. All my teammates that I played with I really enjoyed. Kenny/KCP, I enjoyed playing with him as well, all the coaching staff and everyone.. you guys probably didn’t get to see in front of the camera. All the medical team, the PR people, media, I enjoyed all of them.. Obviously you guys know my family history with the team and how much it meant to Pau. So for me to be here and play for this team was an honor, and it is an honor. So I didn’t take it for granted for one second.”
