On Wednesday, Pixellot and SuperSport agreed to create a high-school network for athletes, families, coaches and scouts in South Africa.
Thanks to this important partnership, Pixellot, the world’s leading provider of AI-Automated™ sports production solutions, and SuperSport, a major broadcast aggregator of sporting content across Sub-Saharan Africa, will provide automated, high quality coverage of team sports.
“One of the biggest inhibitors for broadcasting more sport, at whatever level, is the cost production. The Pixellot camera technology is pretty amazing in that you effectively have one camera that you can seat on top of the sports field, and it uses AI to track the ball.
So no longer do you need multiple camera man and women to be at any one particular venue,” said Marc Jury, CEO of SuperSport.
Following the partnership between the two companies, high school teams, coaches and players in South Africa will see Pixellot’s system produce and stream games and highlights.
This content will be available both live and on-demand and coaches and players will be able to share it with friends, teammates and family.

This partnership marks another step towards the promotion of high school and professional basketball in Africa, whic began with the creation of Basketball Africa League.
The league has already started its inaugural season, which tipped off on May 16, featuring 12 teams, which come from 12 African countries.
