Damian Lillard praised Nikola Jokic and explained why the superstar of the Denver Nuggets is the MVP of the NBA this season.
Lillard named two reasons that make Jokic the MVP, namely his incredible performance all season (26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists) and the fact that he has played in every Nuggets game.
“I mean, I don’t think he’s missed a game this entire season. He’s been dominating from start to finish. They are the three seed in the Western Conference.
The numbers are there. I mean, (it’s) him or Embiid. I don’t see how you don’t give it to him or Embiid. And I would give it to him over Embiid just because Embiid missed games.
He’s played more games than everybody. He’s been in every game, and he’s performed. Jamal Murray got hurt. Will Barton got hurt. And they kept rolling,” Lillard said, via Sam Amick of The Athletic.
Lillard and the Blazers will clash with Jokic and the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. Game 1 is on Saturday night.
