Wesley Matthews didn’t watch the banner ceremony of the Lakers and explained why he made that decision.
Matthews was excited and happy for his teammates, but didn’t watch the cermeony, because he felt like that was for the players that won the title.
The veteran guard now has his sights set on helping the Lakers repeat and raise another championship banner at Staples Center.
“My hunger burns to raise another banner,” Matthews said, via Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen and Roll.
Matthews and the Lakers (40-30) are now fighting to exit the play-in tournament zone, with two games left in the regular season.
