Two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol decided to continue his career in Europe by returning to his hometown of Barcelona.

So far, the 40-year-old forward has played five games for FC Barcelona in EuroLeague, averaging 3 points and 1.8 rebounds in almost 8 minutes per game. Gasol has also played 6 games in the Spanish league, averaging 8.8 points and 4 rebounds in 15 minutes per game.

FC Barcelona has qualified for the EuroLeague Final Four and will look to win its third title which would be the first for Gasol, who has a very decorated career otherwise.

Pau’s younger brother Marc, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, is closely watching him play from overseas. “The way it works it’s nine hours ahead so it’s actually kind of earlier games for us here. It’s kind of if they play 9 PM there.

“I watch, I watch all of them [Pau’s games]. I watch all of them that I was able to. Very happy to see him play. Happy to see him kind of build up on that foot and the motion that he’s playing.

“He’s always played with very emotional and actually I think I saw a little bend on the knees actually defensively that was very impressive. I told him the other day, like ‘Were you on the pick and roll?’ like ‘Were you actually trying to?’ So it was it was fun. I enjoy watching him. He’s happy, his family is happy so that’s all I care about.”
