Anthony Davis had two dominant offensive performances in the two most recent games of the Los Angeles Lakers. The 28-year-old forward had 36 and season-high 42 points against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Phoenix Suns, respectively.

His teammate Marc Gasol shared his thoughts on Davis’ recent performances ahead of the Knicks game. “He’s just been very determined,” the Spanish center said. “I think the last at least two games he’s been very determined to get to his spots, making quick decisions, understanding when he’s going to be double-teamed and where the double-team is coming from.

“And defensively especially down the stretch he’s been tremendous. He covers so much ground. His IQ and instincts defensively are very high. It’s fun to be a part of… he’s such a tool defensively that it it’s fun to be a part of to be honest.

“It’s great to see how he can be on the ball, make a play on the rim and when that pass is released to 45 or a corner, he has the understanding even if he jumps for that contest in that layup, he’s quick enough to get to that shot and contest it and sometimes even block it. So it’s pretty cool to watch.”
