Luka Doncic says groin shot to Collin Sexton was not on purpose

Luka Doncic was ejected during Sunday’s matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Doncic was tossed early in the third quarter after hitting Collin Sexton in the groin.

The foul was ruled a flagrant-2 foul and does not count toward the technical fouls that have been called on Doncic this season. The Mavs’ superstar claimed that he did not hit Sexton on purpose in the post game media session.

“After I saw the video, I knew I hit him, but it was nothing on purpose. I think that kind of stuff happens a lot in the games, but I don’t know. That’s my explanation. It obviously was not on purpose,” Doncic told reporters.

Regardless, Dallas went on to secure a 124-97 blowout victory over Cleveland with Doncic having 15 points, five rebounds and five assists.
