Stephen A. Smith says the Lakers might not get past the play-in tournament

Los Angeles Lakers added another one crucial misstep against the Portland Trail Blazers as they dropped to the seventh seed that leads to the play-in tournament.

The known TV persona and NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith claimed the Lakers are in a trouble explaining that right now they are not getting past the play-in tournament.

“I’m scared right now. I’m scared for the Los Angeles Lakers. I wanna put the basketball world on official notice: I don’t even know if the Lakers get past the play-in. I don’t even know if the Lakers get past the play-in game,” Stephen A. started. “They don’t look good. They don’t look good at all.”

If the season was to end today, the Lakers will face the Golden State Warriors for the 7th seed for a place in the postseason. Facing Stephen Curry in one and done game is not ideal, especially when he’s playing the best basketball of his career since the unanimous MVP season.

According to Smith, Frank Vogel’s team is facing several issues that were marginalized with the injuries of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

“I’m very concerned about the Los Angeles Lakers from that standpoint alone. Then, when you take a look at the rest of the Western Conference (…) there are reasons to be concerned about the Los Angeles Lakers. Right now, I’m officially in panic mode,” Smith said.
