Heat star Jimmy Butler wants the city to know the 2020 NBA finalists are bent on bringing in another championship to Miami and has promised that the next trip to the finals will be capped with a trophy.

The Heat shockingly beat a path to the finals last year and put up a valiant effort against the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals but lost in six games. Butler, who spoke to OceanDrive.com in a recent interview, has assured fans that the Heat are working towards winning what would be a fourth NBA title and will be sure to get the job done when they make it back to the final hurdle.

“I want to let Miami know that we, this organization, want to bring another championship here,” he said. “I miss the fans in the arena – I wish they could’ve been a part of making it to the finals, to just feel that electric energy in the building. It’ll take a lot more from myself, a lot more from everybody as a collective to make it, but when we get there, which we will, we’re gonna get it done this time.”

Butler has been in fine form this season but the Heat are not quite as consistent as they were last year. Their loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night leaves them with a 26-25 record, good enough for sixth in the East. And, having brought in the likes of Victor Oladipo, Trevor Ariza and Nemanja Bjelica, they’re hoping to fashion another run to the NBA finals.

Coming out of the East will be a tall ask, though, with the Brooklyn Nets favored to beat all chasers to the Eastern Conference Championship after putting together a very formidable squad.
