Raptors’ Kyle Lowry out Wednesday with foot infection

Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry will not play Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a right foot infection.

Lowry was expecting to play, but it did not improve over night, as he has been dealing with it off-and-on most of the season, according to the team.

The 35-year-old did not play against the Portland Trail Blazers on March 28 with what was labeled as right foot soreness, but then played through it against the Detroit Pistons on March 29.

Lowry clearly wasn’t at full strength, only scoring 10 points with two assists in 24 minutes.

Without Lowry, Fred VanVleet will take on more of the point guard duties and newly acquired Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood may see more minutes.
