JaVale McGee is expected to attract interest from several NBA teams as we are fast approaching the NBA trade deadline. According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, the Brooklyn Nets are intrigued by Cleveland Cavaliers backup center.

Haynes states that the veteran big is apparently reluctant to have the remainder of the $4.2 million salary on his expiring deal bought out.

As a result, Brooklyn will have to acquire him by giving up assets back to Cleveland. McGee’s teammate Andre Drummond is also in the trading block, with the New York franchise being also interested in acquiring him.

The three-time NBA champion is averaging 7.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks performing admirably as the back-up center behind Jarrett Allen.

Steve Nash has two clear-cut options in the center position with DeAndre Jordan and Nicolas Claxton. Recently acquired Blake Griffin could also be play some small-ball 5 for the Nets this season.
