Nets plan to engage in talks with the Cavs for JaVale McGee, per report

JaVale McGee could soon leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and and join the Brooklyn Nets, according to Sam Amico of Forty Eight Minutes.

As Amico reports, the Nets are planning to engage in talks with the Cavaliers in order to acquire McGee.

“Nets and Cavs meeting for second time tonight, and sources tell @FortyEightMins to expect Nets to make a run at acquiring Cavs backup center JaVale McGee soon. Brooklyn has 2 available roster spots and looking for another veteran presence in the middle,” Amico tweeted.

The Nets sent big man Jarrett Allen to Cleveland as part of the James Harden trade and they now want to bolster their frontcourt.

For their part, the Cavs want to part ways with either McGee or Andre Drummond, as their roster consists of three centers (Allen, Drummond, McGee) at the moment.
