Billionaire tech investor and the Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban announced that his team will begin accepting a new currency – Dogecoin – for tickets and merchandise, via Forty Eight Minutes:
“The Mavericks have decided to accept Dogecoin as payment for Mavs tickets and merchandise for one very important, earth-shattering reason, because we can!” Cuban said.
Dogecoin (DOGE) is a peer-to-peer, open-source cryptocurrency that is categorized as an altcoin.
