Pelicans’ Eric Bledsoe compares Zion Williamson to Giannis Antetokounmpo

The New Orleans Pelicans’ guard Eric Bledsoe is astonished by Zion Williamson’s effectiveness in the paint. At the top of that, he compared his teammate’s ability in that area to his former teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“I’ve played with one other player that has done that,” Bledsoe said in reference to Williamson’s efforts, per Christian Clark of NOLA.com. “That’s Giannis.”

Williamson is having an excellent season with the Pelicans so far, despite the team’s mediocre start. He is averaging 25.9 points per contest on 64% shooting in the last nine games.

The Kentucky product is back in full health this season and he has impressed in the first 43 games of his career. He’s averaged 23.0 points on 58.8 percent shooting, 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30.0 minutes per game.

Williamson faced Antetokounmpo the previous week, where the Pelicans took a huge win over Mike Budenholzer’s team thanks to Zion’s 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

The back-to-back MVP finished this contest with a 38 points, 11 rebounds and five assists effort, despite the Bucks losing the game.
