Frank Vogel opened up about the Achilles injury of Wesley Matthews, which prevented him from playing against the Houston Rockets.
Matthews is dealing with a sore right Achilles tendon and Vogel said the Lakers want to play it safe with the veteran guard.
“Early in the season, we’re going to be conservative with these types of flareups or whatever you want to call it. He had some soreness in there that was enough of a concern to hold him out.
We have a deep team, so we’re going to be responsible with things like that. I don’t believe (he will have additional testing). They did not mention that to me. We’ll see how he is [Monday],” Vogel said, via Lakers Nation.
Matthews is expected to be included in the injury report of the Lakers for the second game against the Rockets on Tuesday.
