The New Orleans Pelicans are signing NBL star Will Magnay on a two-way deal, according to ESPN’s Olgun Oluc. The Australian center spent last season with the Brisbane Bullets of the NBL.

An excessive rim-protector, Magnay led the Australian league in blocks the previous averaging 2.0 per game. The 6’10 big-man also averaged 8.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per earning the Most Improved Player Award for the 2019/2020 season.

The Pelicans completed their roster by giving the second two-way deal to Magnay, who would be expected to spent most of the time in G-League under normal circumstances.

However, with no one knows what to expect for this season in the NBA development league due to COVID-19, Magnay could end up being at the end of the Stan Van Gundy’s bench.

The other two-way player for the Pelicans is Xavier’s Naji Marshall. The 2020/21 season is set to begin on Dec.22, while training camps start on Dec.1.
