The Atlanta Hawks are involved in multi-team trade talks for New Orleans Pelicans’ Jrue Holiday that could include the Hawks’ No. 6 pick in next week’s draft, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Any team trading for Holiday has to be aware of his contract situation, as he is expected to decline his $27 million option for 2021-2022 and become a free agent after this season, Stein also notes.

It was reported last week that the Pelicans are shopping Holiday and he is expected to have many suitors, as the Pelicans have been approached by around 10 teams who are interested in him.

Holiday, 30, who is considered one of the best two-way players in the league, could be a solid fit alongside rising star Trae Young.

The Hawks are focused on making the playoffs this upcoming season and they are focused on acquiring veteran talent instead of another young prospect.

With a win-now mentality, the Hawks are expected to be aggressive in free agency, as they will be one of the teams with the most cap space available.

The Hawks have also been linked to Denver Nuggets forward Jerami Grant who is an impending free agent.
