The Washington Wizards are expected to face tough competition for Davis Bertans, as the forward from Latvia is preparing to enter the market as an unrestricted free agent.

Bertans is going to draw interest, coming off a career year with the Wizards averaging 15.4 points and 4.5 rebounds.

As Chase Hughes of NBC Sport Washington reported, one Western Conference team and two Eastern Conference ones are preparing to make sign-and-trade offers in free agency.

“The teams were not specified, though one source said there are two Eastern Conference teams and one from the West who are interested in sign-and-trade scenarios involving Bertans. That is along with at least three teams – the Hawks, Knicks and Suns included – expected to target Bertans early in free agency using their cap room,” Hughes wrote.

Bertans is one of the best shooters in the NBA making his three-point attempts in a 42% clip the past season. As a result, he is considered one of the top free agents set to hit the open market.
