Pocius inks 1+1 deal with Galatasaray

Lithuanian international Martynas Pocius has signed a one-year deal with the option of another year with Galatasaray, the club confirmed today.

Pocius, currently with the Lithuanian national side ahead of the upcoming FIBA World Cup spent last season Zalgiris Kaunas and reached the Top 16 of the Euroleague, averaging 10.8 points a game.

The 28-year-old won the Lithuanian championship with the Kaunas outfit last season, beating surprise package Neptunas Klaipeda in the LKL Finals.

Pocius spent two seasons with Real Madrid, prior to his move home in the summer of 2013.

The guard has also had previous success with the national team as well, most recently capturing the silver medal at Eurobasket last summer in Slovenia. Pocius helped the Lithuanians win bronze at the FIBA world championships in Turkey four years ago.

The veteran joins new signings Vladimir Micov and Kerem Gonlum at the club, alongside regulars Ender Arslan, Carlos Arroyo and Sinan Guler.
