Jamal Murray spoke on the importance of remaining focus and using his platform to fight against social injustice and racial discrimination.

The Denver Nuggets guard spoke the night before Game 1 of the best-of-seven series against the Los Angeles Lakers at Walt Disney World Resort.

“We don’t want to lose the focus on that so we’ll still wear the shirts and still have the shoes,” said Murray on Thursday evening. “This is something that’s bigger than me and bigger than us and we know what we need to do to create change,” the Canadian said, per Sportnet.ca.

Murray is still trying to keep the focus on social matters and, at the same time, he is leading the Denver Nuggets with his on-court play.

He is averaging 27.1 points, 6.4 assists and 5 rebounds, per contest during the postseason. He is shooting 49 percent from beyond the arc and 50 percent from the field.
