FC Barcelona found a cornerstone by signing two-year contract with center Tibor Pleiss, who arrives from Laboral Kutxa Vitoria. The German center comes off the best season of his career, in which he got better and better as time progressed. Pleiss (2.13 meters, 24 years old) averaged 12 points on 55.7% shooting plus 5.4 rebounds and 1 block over 24 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games. He truly flourished later in the season, with his numbers rising into the Top 16. Over the final five games of the Euroleague season, Pleiss was worth 17.4 points on 58.5% shooting, 7.6 rebounds and 1 block. It was his fourth season in the Euroleague; he played two seasons with Brose Baskets Bamberg and two with Vitoria. An 82.1% career free-throw shooter, Pleiss is fourth all-time among centers in that category. Pleiss also averaged 12.9 points on 60.8% shooting and 6.7 rebounds last season in the Spanish League. In a total of three seasons with Bamberg, Pleiss won three German League titles. He previously played with Cologne.
