Damian Lillard shared his thoughts on the defense the Los Angeles Lakers used to slow him down in Game 2.

The Lakers used a box-and-one strategy to isolate Lillard and force him to pass the ball. The superstar of the Blazers struggled offensively (18 points, on 6/14 shooting and 1/7 from beyond the arc) and knows he has to make adjustments ahead of Game 3.

“I just kept hearing them yell out ‘box, box, box,’ and a guy would come, and they would try to keep me in a boxed-in area. I recognized it, and I’ll go back and watch more to see what they were doing, and where we could take advantage of it and make that adjustment.

I think I’m going to have to give it up and trust the pass out to score and make them pay for it. Hopefully, it will soften up and I can find my spots to be even more aggressive against them,” Lillard said after the loss, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

Game 3 will take place on Saturday. The series are tied at 1-1.
