A week later after EuroBasket 2011 draw ceremony was finished Lithuanian basketball fans voted for the song which was supposed to become an anthem of this year's EuroBasket. A whole bunch of some of the most famous local artists submitted their songs for the judgement of the fans.
Eventually top 10 songs were chosen for a live TV show during which the winner was decided.
Marijonas Mikutavicius who is well known in Lithuania for creating songs that become anthems (his most notable song was written for Sydney Olympic Games in 2000 called 'Trys milijonai') was the favourite this time as well. His new song titled 'Krepsinio himnas' ('Anthem of baskebtall' in English) was the top pick of all the voters. The song is performed by Mikutavicius himself and two other artists - Mantas and Mia.
You can listen to the song below. The video includes the lyrics in Lithuanian.
