Bourosis to Leave Olympiacos for NBA?
#1
Quote:According to greek media there are 2 proposals from the NBA to sign Ioannis Bourousis(2.10-C) in the following summer. Bourousis becomes a free-agent this summer and there have been no announcements regarding a contract renewal with Olympiakos. Another interesting fact here is that Bourousis does not have a high contract as some other playes in the team. In fact he has one of the lowest ones and the reason for that is because when he first signed with Olympiakos he wasn't as good as he is now.

The 2 teams interested to sign Bourousis are San Antonio and Miami. Miami is also prepared to guarantee his playing time in order to make the offer more appealing. The general consensus in Greece is that Olympiakos will have the first word about Bourousis. The player and his agent know that the Aggelopoulos brothers are generous enough to make his decision quite easy if it comes to money. The fact remains that Bourousis will make a lot more money playing for Olympiakos or any other european team than playing for an NBA team. He averaged 12.5 points and 7.4 rebounds in 22 games in the Euroleague and he has averaged 12.2 points and 7.4 rebounds in 26 games in the greek A1 league so far including the play-offs.
