and some nice money influx for the club...what does a ticket cost?

Tickets price for this not High Economic Country meaning Serbia is very high. They have two levels in Belgrade Arena. One that is blue color(on picture) is 1.500 Din or 15 euros (today's exchange rate) and for second and best view(red & green) is 2.500 Din or 25 euros.Look picture below. This is plan for concert. But still is watchable. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

That's expensive. To watch panathinaikos in athens you pay 10 euros. In any case if they sell 15k tickets for 15 euro its 225k. Assuming that some 25 euro tickets will be sold too, partizan is looking at 300-400k from this game. That is huge money for a club like partizan

Yes very huge money. But for Administration of BC Partizan this is "life opportunity" to earn big money. And enough to survive. They wanted to move in Belgrade Arena while was Top 16.But already has been reserved.

That's the problem with partizan: they never know whether they will advance to the top16 so to reserve the arena from the beginning of the season. If they would they would probably cover the whole season's budget in just 3 top16 games...

Partizan beats maccabi in Nokia by 8 eventhough they were down by 21 in 15'. I can't see maccabi winning in either pionir or beogratska <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yahoo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Yahoo' />

the reason i said partizan will advance was the coach factor of course

Partizan with the shocker, even though they were down by 21 in the 2nd...impressive. Now all they have to do is protect home court and they're in the Final Four for the first time in 12 years. Anderson looked horrible yesterday, Perkins is quickly becoming Maccabi's key player, even though he makes the least amount of money on the team (around $200,000/year).

CSKA destroyed Caja. It looked like a close series on paper, but CSKA have been on a roll and Caja simply don't measure up to them. CSKA could go all the way from a huge disappointment early in the season to Euroleague champs at this pace, especially if they finish off Caja quickly and get some rest before the Final Four.

Barca-Real was a really close game throughout. I watched parts of the game and the whole 4th quarter and you could see how important it was for the Barca players to finish Real off, despite a weak game by the home team.

Prokom put up a great fight vs the Greeks, apparently. I didn't get to watch any of the game, so I don't know what exactly happened, but it's becoming more and more obvious that Prokom depend absolutely on their Americans (Woods, Ewing, Logan, even Burrell). I'm pretty sure Olympiacos will be able to keep at least 2 of the 4 under double digits in the future.

prokom's game depends solely on the performance of their americans who seem to be playing completely out of any system. if they make their shots, prokom wins, if not they lose big time. yesterday prokom was in the game for 30', but then the amis got tired so oly went up by 11. Some difficult shots made by logan in the final minute put prokom back in the game, down by 2, but it wasn't enough.

Teodosic with an amazing game again, made some 10 points in crunch time, with back to back threes

Quote:Euroleague Quarter-Finals Game 1: Partizan shocks Maccabi (videos)

Partizan once again showed that they deserved to qualify for Euroleague Playoffs by making a late run to upset Maccabi Tel Aviv in game one of the quarter-finals. The Yellows had a better start and they had a rather big 15-point lead already after the first quarter. Status quo was kept in the first half until Partizan began to slowly close the gap.

Veteran guard Dusan Kecman, who won Euroleague with Panathinaikos, had a stellar performance for Partizan with 29 points (3/4 2pts, 7/9 3pts). Meanwhile Maccabi's star Alan Anderson struggled to find his game as he only made 4 out of 13 two-point shots and missed both three-pointers finishing the game with 12 points.

Maccabi fans weren't too happy with their favourite team's performance and started leaving Nokia Arena before the final whistle. At the same time, the attendance in Tel Aviv was the highest of the game one - 11,500.

Barcelona hosted arch rivals Real Madrid. Barca confirmed the predictions by beating Ettore Messina's men in El Clasico 68-61. Pete Mickeal was the top scorer for Barceloa with 18 points. Real was led by Darjus Lavrinovic who collected 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Surprise package Asseco Prokom of Poland gave Euroleague favourites Olympiacos a run for their money in Athens. The Reds were forced to be in a chasing role as their opponents were ahead for large parts of the game. But eventually it was the Greek club who celebrated the win. Lithuanian star Linas Kleiza poured 26 points for Olympiacos. Qyntel Woods, former Olympiacos player, topped the scoresheet for Asseco Prokom with 23 points.

CSKA Moscow fans are either used to important games or they new the final score before the game even started. Only 3,900 fans gathered in Universal Sports Hall CSKA to watch their team facing Caja Laboral. Euroleague runners-up denied all the pre-season predictions by reaching the quarter-finals and constantly improving their form. This was clearly the case in game one of the quarter-finals as they left no chance for the visiting Caja Laboral who played with a recovering Tiago Splitter. Igor Vorontsevich had 15 points for CSKA which was enough for him to be the top scorer of his team. Santiago San Emeterio and Mirza Teletovic both scored 11 points for the Spanish side.

Full box scores can be found in the links below:

I couldn't watch a single game on TV because of the f***ing ice hockey... But when I saw the final score of Maccabi - Partizan I was like <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ohmy' /> <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/1a.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='1a' />

Sorry to all Maccabi fans but I hope Partizan makes to the Final Four this time. It will be very hard though.

I was rather surprised to see that Caja Laboral had no response to CSKA. The other two games went the way I expected.

Kecman is fantastic. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Maccabi lost 2 matches in Nokia Arena tihs year(Am I right?). First match Teletovic shows superb performance and second Kecman too! But I am surprised about Eidson's performance. <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ohmy' />

Maccabi took revenge in Tel Aviv with a 98-78 win over Partizan. This might be even better as Partizan fans will be even more fired up in Belgrade <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Cool' />

Olympiacos beat Asseco Prokom 90-73. Kleiza with 26 points in the second in a row <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Real tied the series with Barca after 70-63 win.

caja laboral stands no chance imo. even before the series began i considered cska a 95% favorite.

the surprise came from barcelona, i must admit i didn't expect that. Yet i still believe that barcelona will advance and win it this year. poor display by navarro. Barcelona is experiencing what i expected would happen sooner or later: if you have a very deep rotation with players playing 20' more or less, they could eventually not be ready in crucial games. better have a clear starting 5 with players that play close to 30' whole season long imo

Well im glad Maccabi looked pretty good and got the confidence back, hope it'll give the players a boost to win one game in belgrade which won't be easy at all...Anyway, I was glad to see how Maccabi did all the things right (just like first half of game 1) but this time didn't stop till the end of the game and learned from their mistake in game one.

In belgrade i won't be surprised if the games will look different since at their home court it'll be alot easier for them to force Maccabi to play their type of game, but the good thing about it is that it means a tight game till the end even if they force it, hope our players will manage to win one game in Belgrade in get the series back home where we have a great chance of getting back to the Final fFour after a long time out of it (a whole season <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />)

Oly had some hard time at first game but obviously will get through, CSKA is alot better than caja in the teams' current shape and Real has a pretty good chance of surprising barca, for some reason Barca isn't very confident against Real (even after kicking their ass in the other games this season) I won't be surprised to see a 5 games series, good for the fans of course that will enjoy 5 great basketball games <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Biggrin' />
